Inside of 50 feet and with a cardiac cavity entry, yes easily. I wouldn't hunt deer with any handgun though.

You would have to check your local laws for barrel length and if legal for use.

There is nothing wrong with the .357 sig as a hunting round. The problem lies in the pistols that are chambered for the .357 sig. None have a 6" barrel that is required by many states to qualify a pistol for hunting. I shot a deer at an odd angle with a regular 357 mag. The JSP bullet went through 36" of deer bone and flesh. A handgun is never my primary weapon when hunting. Deer do have a way of appearing when you are away from your long gun.

I'll have to try that. I'll leave my long gun 100 yards away and carry a .44
