RL19 in a 308?! Good golly man how are you going to pack enough in there without using a hydraulic press? My manuals don't contain load data for anything slower burning then RL15 even for 180gr. I would try 15 first or 17 if you were trying to do something truly insane. RL19 works GREAT in my 06 because I can pack 61.5gr in there, the 308 is a higher pressure cartridge and it's case capacity would max out around the 50gr mark depending on the bullet, I don't have quickload but I would guess you would not break 45,000psi even with a magnum primer and a 180gr.

i'll have to recheck my load data book. might be mistaking or remembering the wrong powder.

I used a .280 Remington barreled by P.O. Ackley of Salt Lake City for Silhouette Shooting. The .280 combined power and accuracy needed for the 500 meter "Borrege". The .280 had low recoil and flat trajectory for shooting the 500 meter off hand targets.

Don't get me wrong I love RL19 it is one of the powders I use in bulk in several calibers, but RL 15 was MADE for the 308 and it is right up there with the best of them. 748 and Varget are my other two favorites. What grain are you trying to shoot?
