Default255gr .45ACP Hog Load

How about this new hog load for 45ACP fans:

255gr Hard Cast at 875 fps. That is exactly the ballistics of a blackpowder .45 Long Colt!

Very nice! My old 1911 couldn't handle it, but maybe someday...

It will with a conventionally rifled barrel installed.

I hunt hogs regularly with a .45, but it aint the acp, at least a 260 grain cast or JHP cause we got some big pigs down here. 45 colt, single action revolver with some big boy loads, the acp is a manstopper but not meant for hogs.

Are you saying the original Colt 255 grain black powder load is inadequate for hogs?

aint ever messed with black powder rifles or pistols, but cant see how they could handle a devastating load. just my opinon, maybe they can, but I know I am around big pigs 365 days a year in the pastures and I wont go out after a wounded pig with less than a .41 mag, but I prefer a .44 mag or .45 colt (long colt) with heavy loads. I do see hogs every day, kill them with anything from a .17hmr to a .308, but most auto pistols aint meant for the job.
