Default .25-06 Bolt Action

I'm looking to get a .25-06 for around $600-$700 for the gun AND optics. I plan to use it for deer and coyote and plan to mount either a Leupold rifleman or Nikon ProStaff 3-8x scope. I've been looking into the Weatherby Vanguard S2, Tikka T3 Lite, and Savage 111. I'm leaning towards the Weatherby for its sub-MOA guarantee and 24" barrel. I can get in on Bud's gun shop for 500 bucks.

I have several rifles but recently I bought a Tikka T-3 at an auction in 270 Win. cal. Years ago I had a SAKO Rifle that was one of the best rifles I ever owned. TIKA is made by SAKO so of all you mentioned I would take a close look at the TIKKA T-3. Great Quality, Tight Chamber and very accurate. The Weatherby is made by Howa in Japan but still is a good rifle since Howa is a good rifle. But the TIKA gets my vote. And I am a diehard Remington man normally!
The 25-06 is not a bad choice for deer and coyotes.

check out the Marlin X7 in 25-06. i currently have the XL7C which has the factory camo stock. very accurate rifle. well made, and very pleasant to shoot.

paid about $390 for mine. you may be able to get one for less. i highly recommend the X7 series, and after the 25-06, bought a XS7 in 7mm-08 and the XS7VH in 308. all three are excellent performing rifles.

You can get a Handi-Rifle in .25-06 from Wal-Mart for just over 200 bucks. I got one & it shoots great, sub-MOA, add a good $75.00 dollar scope & you have a complete package for right around 300 bucks !..................Plenty of money left in that $600.00 for ammo..............
