I have killed moose with the .270. Last was a 14 pointer bull. Bang-flop. It is illegal to hunt moose here with anything less than a 100 gr bullet. Therefore the .243 is out with most factory loadings.

For elk I prefer the heavier bullets for my 30/06. However between the .270 and .243, use the .270. One aimed shot= meat in the pot!

While I've never shot a .243 win, I'd have to go with the .270 Win.

I mean .270- Bigger bullet means more stopping power, Longer effective range, faster speed and the bullet's almost the perfect size for anything in North America.

While the .243 win offers - Less recoil, Less stopping power, Shorter effective range, and slower speeds.

A smart man once told me, "I'd rather overkill than underkill."
