Default 223 or 243

i have a question for hunting overall for accuracy, recoil, and such would the 223 or 243 be better?

Hunting what? There's plenty of things I would shoot with a .243 that I would not with a .223.

For absolutely nothing more than versatility, I'd pick a .243 every time.

If a .223 is legal for large game in your state, I would still go with a .243 MINIMUM. You wanna kill it swiftly, not eventually.

The 243 will do everything a 223 will do, and then some. The only advantage the 223 has is cheap surplus ammo (well, it use to be cheap) can sometimes be found.

For hunting game up to Whitetail it would be a .243. The .223 has less recoil, but lacks in to many areas to be effective on medium game.

more bullet choices for the 243. 223 is for target shoting plinking and military applications. its a crappy hunting round.

The .223 is okay for varmints but I would not use mine for anything larger than a coyote.

.243 is great for varmint iv even deer hunted with mine.

i just shot a deer with a 243 but i was just looking for some input about if it is an all around good gun or if the 223 would be better

243 for deer is better. Shot placement is always the key factor for clean kills and both calibers can be very accurate.
