Ok, young nuts, I'm going to be easy on you.

First, there is no side in the .22lr for taking large game. Is it possible, yes. Is it ethical (I don't expect you to understand 'ethics') no. Is it legal, heck no.

As for being 14 years old and knowing anything about providing for a family...well if you have children, then you went wrong a long time ago. If you are responible for a mortgage, bills, food, moral teachings, etc. then your opinion is relevant. As a child, you may have some idea of the 'long haul' of life, but you do not have real experience of such.

As for taking Texas deer with a .22lr, heck those little creatures there can be taken with a wrist rocket. I think I could effectively throw a rock and take those itty bitties. Is it ethical or legal, no.

Part of growing up is the realization of life's responsibilities, and the proper way to take on those responsibilities.

I was not talking about legality or ethics. I did it because I had to do it. Would I do it now HELL NO. Why because one I am 25 years older and 50 years more wiser.

It is illegal in all 50 states to take medium to large game with a rimfire cartridge. If you look around here you will see that I believe that the famous and much vaunted (I know big words for you guys) 17hmr. It is not suitable for anything bigger than a kit fox in my book. That being said I have seen people take boars and other such game with air rifles. These are not your normal daisy Red Ryder we all started with they are specialized high power rifles for ADULTS.

So you younguns just cool your jets.
