Just got back from Texas at 3:30 yesterday. It was hot but we managed to locate and shoot some good deer. The night temperature finally dropped down to a reasonable temperature on Sunday and Monday night and you could see the Rut firing up. I had good luck this year shot some coyotes, a pig, two does for Summer Sausage with cheese and jalapeno peppers mixed in and a shot a nice buck. In fact I saw several nice 6s, 8s and a few 10 pt bucks. Hope all of our members are having a great season, or are going to have a good season. Bottom line just getting out in the field and among nature is worth it all whether you get anything or not.

Sorry,
Having some difficulty downloading the pictures so here we go. Trying again.
The Buck and the Coyotes. We have been making a dent in the coyote population on the Ranch. And the rancher is very pleased. As of Monday evening and the week and a half from last season we have killed 27 coyotes and 3 Bobcats beside the deer and pigs. And there are still 5 large sized coyote packs on the property and one Cougar.
Good luck to all this season!
