I shot this buck yesterday morning on some public hunting ground by my house.
I was sleeping in and heard some shots so I got ahold of my neighbors that hunt around the public area. They said they heard shots in there and I decided to go check it out. I walked back to my tree stand in there and was climbing the ladder when I heard something in the woods. I saw what it was and climbed back down to get my gun. When he stepped into the field he stopped to look and make sure it was clear and I dropped him with my cva muzzleloader.
After I shot the other guys that shot walked down there and they had shot a button buck and another small 8 pointer.
I think I did good for being out of my truck for 10 mins.

Default Wisconsin.

Got back home last night.

Me and my 13 year old brought these home, never saw a buck during
daylight but plenty of them on the trail cams at night mainly from
midnight to 4 AM.

But then we were not the only hunters in the woods.

This was near Hixton, WI.

I seriously doubt that. Where you have reds you will have greys. Greys are alot more secretive amd reclusive.

According to what info I can find you are correct but in 45 years of stomping
through the woods and fields of IL, I have yet to see one; and I have seen
a Timberwolf and a Puma here and they are not supposed to be here...
