Default2009 Deer Season Thread

If a mod wants to make this a sticky, feel free.

Spent my first day in the woods this season on Friday and took my first deer with a bow a little before 5pm. 20 yard shot, dropped a doe, 130-140lbs live weight. I forgot my camera so no pics, sorry. If you've bagged one, speak up, pics would great and I'll try not to forget my camera the next time I go out.

Congrats! What type/weight broadhead do you use? Do you shoot with a release or fingers? Carbon or aluminum?

I'm using a carbon arrow with a release, 100gr broadhead and I used a Grim Reaper. It did it's job well.

They are trying to bring them back. You can't hunt the few that are here.

That's great, spitty. I have not been out yet this season. Still too many leaves on the trees for my liking. How many are you allowed per season?

Bow season here started Oct 1, that was a special 4 day season. Jeff used a TC Encore Encore Pro Hunter - Thompson/Center We can't use rifles until you get north of a certain line. the muzzle loader in .50cal is our favorite to use. But bow season goes 10/1 on and then regular firearm season is 11/15
