Depends on what you want to shoot and how much you want to spend. Are you looking to shoot some benchrest (pretty active in MD), then nearly any quality rifle can be used in Factory class. If you want to shoot the top shelf stuff you need to be prepared to spend a good amount of money. The action alone will cost more than a high end hunting gun.

Realistically, even a 'factory' gun might take some smith work. There are a lot of great ones out there. I'm an IBS guy, I don't shoot F-Class. Best bet would be to find a group of F-Class guys and talk shop. You can get priceless info and save a ton of money by sharing a cup of joe with the folks that have been there.

Good luck with your new rifle, there is nothing like challenging your skills against a standard.

I understand the Savage 110 is a darned good starter rifle for F class

Depending on how much you want to spend. I would suggest looking at the Savage Model: 12 BTCSS. Great shooter, extremely accurate.

Do you reload? I am a benchrest shooter. 5 shot-dime size groups at 100 yards with this rifle.
