You were. And it's been dead since MAY for a reason....

It's not just cpttango - several of the group would prefer to leave the old threads as done and settled. No "new" knowledge is going to change the decision of those that posted a year ago asking for advice....

Then why aren't the older threads closed to further replies? I know you guys like keeping them for a good data base for the search engine. Maybe I'll just take this over to the suggestion board.

The initial poster had a total of 5 posts on this forum. That would lead one to believe he isn't an active member and didn't really care about the response. He might have been a young kid or a spammer...
The older threads aren't closed because the Original Poster may come back with information for the forum, which would add to the knowledge of the collective.
However, forum necrophelia, does seem to speak to "Why?"
The thread was dead for 8 months and we get "Tom Knapp did the History Channel trick shooting".
Not exactly breaking new ground here. It's not like suddenly there was a big get together of quarter shooting spe-cial-ists that all set Guiness records....

I'm not trying to poke a sleeping grizzly here, but I had no idea someone could get so pissed off from reading two words. Am I missing something here? If I stayed away from old forms in this section, excluding this one, I would be limited to two or three forms, one started by me yesterday.

Well, I guess if you are here merely for competition shooting threads, then I guess that makes sense - though you seem to have less than a competition model in your AV.
When I logged in this morning there 48 threads with new posts - which is about average for a 12 hour lay off.
cpttango - and others including myself, frequently review most, if not all, the new posts to make sure that good, quality information is getting out there and the big bad internetz isn't getting the best of some anonymous armchair uber commando.
In this case, the thread was dead quite a while, but if you are here for competition shooting / skill shooting only, then that makes sense your interest in this thread.

Thank you for poking fun at my avatar. I smell some hypocrisy. If the picture I choose to have as an avatar is an accurate representation of the type of person/shooter I am, then I would not be a competition shooter. Instead, it would suggest that I would be a man of law enforcement, id est, a cop. If the same goes for you, then your avatar of John Herbert Dillinger would suggest that you are a criminal, id est, a robber. Therefore, we are gonna have to play some good ol' fashion Cops n Robbers!
I understand the need to filter new "junk" posts. If that is the case, why did my "less than your standard of quality" post make it on this website? If your a moderator, don't you have the option to decline posts?
I am not here strictly for competition shooting. My example of not posting on old threads is not limited to the competition shooting section.
I like your last sentence, it reminds me of Yoda.
I'm off to bed, talk to you in the morning JD.

I can do the money shooting trick, it has to be a dollar bill pinned to a cardboard target ten feet in front of my face and using a .12 ga. with #8 bird shot. I can get some hits most of the time.
