Pistol competition yesterday

We had our pistol shoot yesterday. We use a combination of IDPA and IPSC rules. I am on the board for the Jail ministry. It is a fund raiser. We had an awesome time. 34 competators. I scored 12th. I was amazed at the level of skill of some of the shooters. It was a low score wins event. We had four stages. The lowest score was 98. I had a 146. The highest (worst) score was over 400. But she was a new shooter using a revolver. They don't give a time bonus for revolvers. We were shooting from 8am to 3pm. It was almost 100 degrees. But we did it anyway. We sold a lot of pop! Everyone still had a great time. We raised more than $1500 for the ministry. And we all met a few new friends.

Sounds like a great time Rick. Wish I could have made it, even just to spectate, but mechanical troubles with my primary transportation have my sidelined at the moment.

I wish I had been more careful with my handloads. I decided to use berry's plated bullets instead of my usual 255 grain lead. I screwed up on my crimp. I had to clear my weapon three times in one stage. The slide did not do all the way into bettery. Luckily I realized what was happening. I am able to clear my 1911 very quickly. I switched to my lead loads after that. I had an almost perfect score. It was just the time I lost on the one round that really hurt me. It was still an awesome day! I think we will do it again in the fall.

If you do one of these in the future, I would be happy to drive out to Clifton and help ya raise money for your Ministry! keep me in mind.

Although I would prob be one of the guys scoring 400+ LOL

I will always post shooting events on the FTF. Everyone is welcome. We have Christians and Non-Christians alike. But all proceeds go to the minstry. Everyone seems to have a great time.
