We actually get them from the bowling alley on post. After a period, they replace the pins with new ones and either give away or sell the used ones cheap.

As far as finding matches, ours here are run by the local IDPA club. When I lived in Marietta, the local store & range was asked if they'd host them - and they did...

Well, you must have been my good luck charm last night NGIB. As soon as you left, I couldn't hit anything. Had a good time none the less. The pins we normally get for free from the MWR on Ft. Stewart, but most bowling alleys will sell you their used pins for a dollar each. I actually shot a few with my 5.7 last night, it was like the pins would fall in slow motion. LOL. You see it get hit and it was almost like they floated backwards then fell off the table. Our winner last night was shooting 147 grain 9mm reloads. I believe they were moving somewhere around 1100 fps, but I can't recall the specs he told me he loaded them too. Enjoyed shooting with you NGIB! Hopefully we can get one set up for the weekend, and you can come down and try it out spittinfire.

Buddy, I think we both need a bit more trigger time in our lives. It used to be you & I shutting these folks down...

I would love to come and give this a try. I just loaded 300rds for my 45 that I think would work nicely. 5.9gr of universal under a 230gr slug. Oh wait, NGIB is handing out ammo.

I might be too. Plus, we need more shooters. NGIB (and I) are tired of losing to the same people.

Nah, come on out, we have a blast at these things.

Hey NGIB, what do you think about maybe getting a pistol caliber carbine bowling pin match going?

NGIB is not a rifle guy, but it would open up his Day Trade business a bit. How would you feel about getting beat by a Hi-Point if you are using a Beretta that costs 3-4 times more?

Some of those carbines are extremely accurate.

True I'm not a rifle guy but it sure would be a fun test for my Mini 14 (if they allowed .223). Bring down your Hi-Point fella and we'll see...
