When I first wanted to get into any of the action-shooting sports I just started google searching for any ranges nearby where I lived and happened across the IDPA organization's web site and found my current range. Maybe a quick '3-gun competition in South Carolina' search could at least yield a contact name or a starting place. Or maybe even start looking at the USPSA's site to see if they have any links as well. Good luck!
