Default How many competition formats??

I'm just curious how many types of "competitions" are out there. Aside from skeet and trap my club only has .22 gallery shoots and group that seems to shoot mostly 200 yd matches using mostly garands. Even shooting steel chickens seems to be lacking..

There must be dozens but living in MA I'm lucky I can have a gun.

If there is a way to keep score, there is likely some kind of competition for it..

The ones I know about or are offered at my club:

USPSA Pistol
USPSA Multi-gun
Schutzen (SP?)
NRA High power Rifle
Axis vs Allied, Bolt and Semi-auto
Sporting Clays
5-stand Sporting clays
Small bore target
Small bore Sillouette
Largebore Sillouette
Handgun Sillouette (IHMSA)
Black Powder Cartridge Rifle Sillouette
NRA Action Pistol

Um, that's all that comes to mind..

Had to add:

Bowling pin
Air Rifle Sillouette

If there is a style of shooting out there you can bet that someone has come up with a competition for it....

Scholastic Clays and Scholastic Steel Challenge for the kids.
Ruger Rimfire Challenge
There are some IPSC matches here in the US--slightly different divisions
and rules than USPSA
3-Gun and Multi-gun matches---there are a BUNCH of different formats and rules.
Are they still doing Sportsman's Team Challenge?
Can't believe nobody has mentioned ICORE!
