Im gwtting into 3 gun comp and thinking of trading my colt for a 57 but i dont know if i xan use it in comp. I understand the caliber has to be bigger than .22

A lot of ranges won't allow you to use 5.7 on steel poppers.

Only if you use LEO ONLY armor piercing rounds. Normal civilian 5.7x28mm rounds won't damage the plates. Most other competitions require a 9mm or larger round and the 5.7 is not large enough.

Old club I shot at banned all of it due to issues with steel. Could have just been there poppers, or they didn't feel like inspecting everyone's ammo.

they say the 5.7mm round would equal .224caliber,very slightly larger than a .22 cal. i've shot a FiveseveN and it is a smooth running pistol.
