Explain what a 3 gun match is
Assume I know nothing about three gun (not too hard to imagine ) and I was thinking about it. In plain English please, I've read the rules and sites and am still confused .
What is 3 gun?
What is the typical course of fire?
What will 3 gun teach me when it comes to life, tactics, safety and shooting?
What are some typical guns you see at a 3 gun?
Thanks

I'm not really sure, but I think it is something like IDPA ,but with a pistol, then shotgun, and finally rifle. I think a member here, vr4, does it. I think he has some of his shoots on video.

AS far as I understand it.....A three gun match is a match that uses three different fire arms, normally a pistol, a shot gun and a long gun.....but....really it can be set up any way, Muzzle-loader, rifle, assault rifle....22 cal, 308, 50 cal....it is up to to organizers of the competition. One of the more interesting ones I have seen, no one knew what was going to be shot till the day of the competition....that one did not work out to well as the fire arms were all provided by the organizers, and some of them were, well not in the best shape.

The only type that comes to mind when I think of it include Pistol, Shotgun and Rifle set up on a sort of Practical Situation/Obstacle course designed to test your shooting under stress and while being timed to do so.
