Default Does anyone do any Cowboy Action Shooting?

I was wondering if anyone does any cowboy action shooting, and if so what guns do you use. I have been thinking about getting into this as something to do with the family. My Dad says he will do it, and my older son has an intrest as well. I want to know what people are shooting, and why. I have been doing plenty of research and have found that the Ruger Vaqueros are the best single action revolver for this sport. If anyone has anything different to say, I am all ears. What shotguns do you use, and why? What rifle do you use, and why? I am just trying to get more info before I start going out to the matches around here and start asking questions face to face.

There must be regular matches in your area or you wouldn't be asking.

Go to the matches and watch. Ask questions. Tell the match director why
you are there, he will help you out. Shooters are a friendly bunch, you just
might get to try out the guns you are thinking of buying.
