Ok so tax time I want to pick up a small Gemtech OUTBACK II for my rifles and pistols in 22lr.
I have a decent understanding of how to go about the purchase as a single person. I have heard of people forming a trust to purchase suppressors and Other Class III Toys.
How and why would you do this? |

You are NOT going to like my answer.
See a lawyer.
Reason I say that- some of the "Internet instant cheapo legal products" (notice at no time did I say Legal Zoom) that have been used to establish a trust to hold title to Class III firearms have produced a legal product that the BATFE has held did NOT meet the requirements for their rules, resulting in confiscation of the firearm. (Whew! All in one breath! )
As an alternative, find a helpful Class III dealer, ply him with drink, pick his brain. __________________ What we have heah is.... failure to communicate. |

nothing legal.
Just why would someone go through all the work to set up a trust when you can just go down to class III dealer and start the process. Is it the fact that you really don't own the class III item the trust does?
I don't care about legal or not on here I will talk to a class III dealer to go about the whole thing. I was just wondering. |

Don't know how it is in your neck of the woods, but here in MO I can buy a suppressors as long as I hold an FFL. (C&R will work.) But I have to have the written approval of the local chief LEO to get the class III approval.
Setting up a trust eliminates the requirement for the LEO "permission slip". __________________ What is this 100m you speak of?! Here in AMERICA we shoot in YARDS boy, a meter is something I use to measure voltage with.

Eff it. Buy The Anarchist's Cookbook and learn how to make one out of a plastic bottle. While it may be a one shot deal, you can save up your recycleables and have a whole mags worth. __________________ From C3Shooter:

Anyone in this forum topic from Washington State? I've been considering going through the process of obtaining a supressor and wanted to know how well others in the state faired. |
