Stg-556/Stg77 F/A
I just picked up a Stg-556 and was curious about something. In NO WAY do I intend to make my semi-auto rifle f/a. I mean in NO WAY.

If you put a real Stg77 trigger pack in would you now have a f/a Stg-556? I am guessing it would take more than that bc the ATF doesn't allow guns to be "readily convertible". What if you put a Stg77 trigger pack in a s/a AUG? I'm just curious on the subject. Again, I in NO WAY intend to do this and I in NO WAY intend to purchase an illegal trigger pack.

Also, there are RDIASs available for AR lowers to make them a legal f/a while the RDIAS is installed. Is there any legal trigger packs and/or a part to drop in a Stg-556? What I mean is something in the MG registry for an AUG that would also fit an Stg-556, similar to the RDIAS idea in an AR. If this was possible and of course legal I would be interested.

Thanks for any info, and again I DO NOT intend to break ANY laws including the NFA.

Sorry, I dont have an answer, but a question.

How do you like the rifle? I've held them and they are very ergonomic, but have never shot one.

ANY part of an automatic weapon makes yours "legally" full auto; whether or not it fires full auto is irrelevant.

M16 BCGs are still civilian legal, some AR15s come with them.

Maybe I am wrong. C3 would know for sure.

Aside from the bolt carrier group, i believe you are correct.

I built my AR with an M16 BCG, they are much more sought after because of the extra weight and the fact that the firing pin is shrouded.

Well, they use the words "should not" quite a bit but don't outright say forbidden. Apparently it only applies to ar-15 rifles. I just assumed it applied to all semi-automatic versions of automatic weapons.
I screwed up anyway. I read it as stag556 not stg556
Thought the question was about a stag ar

As far as handling I've never felt anything like it. The ergonomics are great...much diff from an AR. Mag changes are much slower and I give up some accuracy, the barrel isn't free floated. OTOH, the charging handle is no-recip and it's on the left, I'm running a 16" 1/8 5.56 NATO barrel in a package measuring only 27 inches. Weight is 7.2 pounds, but it's mostly on the rear. I could easily fire it strong side one handed, but would be f'd if I need to switch to support side. I don't like the taste or feel of hot brass!

Ordered a Promoted Pawn optics rail and a set of their QD sling swivels tonight. I had to get their rail, it's about a half inch lower, to be able to get a proper cheek weld using a MeproLight M21. Parts are like unicorns, nobody knows where to find them. Rat Worx USA is about to release trigger packs that take M16/AR15 parts and their bolt takes M16/AR15 parts. All in all, it's gonna be a lot of work to set this thing up proper. Is it worth it to you? For me the answer is yes, almost new Stg-556 and the MeproLight M21 for $1800. I couldn't say no.

I really hope someone here can satisfy my curiosity. I haven't shot her yet, waiting on my parts from Promoted Pawn. I'll def give you guys a range report when I do.

RDIAS's are pretty scarce and very pricy for what you get. I personally have seen many more registered machine guns than sears.

Thanks Robo. I'm just trying to figure out how to make her "real" and legal. I found some trigger packs in the $15,000 range, but I'm still not sure this is all I would need. I don't have that much coin now, but I'm good at saving.

Robo, do you know what receiver AUGs go for?
