special 9mm ammo to run a full auto MP5? seriously

I couldnt even believe it. Talking to a guy last night that tries to tell me, you need special higher pressure 9mm ammo to make a mp5 run right in full auto . I didnt say anything and just went with it but is this guy looking for a kaboom. Proceded to say all f/a ammo is different . The guy shoots competitively , loads all his own ammo but to have this come out of his mouth . Wow just wow

I have access to pallets of that special full auto ammo in 9mm. Since you don't, I will sacrifice myself and offer to buy your MP5 for $1500. After my funds clear, you can buy a M&P Sporter. It'll be a lot easier to find regular s/a 5.56 than the special stuff I have. PM me so we can iron out the details of the sale.

As we have 3 MP-5's I can tell you he is full of crap. I have shot hundreds of rounds of HSM orange box reloads through these guns and had ZERO problems.

I do know that there were machine gun loads made in 9mm to make for more reliable function of SMGs. I don't think they were made with the MP5 in mind but for open bolt guns. The delayed roller locking system seems pretty forgiving.

This weapon would be too expensive to have. :D

No if they sold at actual price and you had a progressive reloader. That poor machine would be used more than spell check is worldwide.

Im no know it all but I know 9mm runs in the 44000-46000 psi on case pressure he was talking crazily about 124000-160000 psi for a 9mm f/a cartridge . could you even squeeze in enough powder to get to those kind of pressures ? :D I mean damn if you wanna read and flap your gums about stuff you dont know about, at least go hit google or wipipedia first. I see a big azzz KABOOM in his future

Everything on the internet has to be true.

If your friend is going by muzzle velocity, yes the 9mm from an MP5 would be faster than from a typical 4.5" barreled pistol.

But that can be attributed to the longer barrel length.

But a different ammo? No.

Sounds like an editor for Mall Ninja weekly. One of the big deals behind a pistol caliber carbine is the ability to use the same ammo in the carbine and side arm. Can you imagine th eammo logistics horror and storage of these special rounds and keeping them seperate form the semi auto stuff?
I guess a Tommy gun needed some +P ACP?
