Guess what I got in the mail today and it's got my picture on it?

And to think it only took 13 months!!! AMAZING!

Ok, this is absolutely the last update. I just got my certified letter from the state of Ohio saying that my record has been expunged and I am now legally a good citizen again.

Now I wonder if I can go buy a gun. I'm thinking that the OSP will see that I was denied before and just deny me again without even doing a background check again.

Finally! After 8 months the OSP finally approved the sale of a firearm to me. I'm just glad I got everything all cleared up.

This post has been very educational... I am happy you finally got it sorted out. As an Oregon based FFL, I know these things happen on occasion, and often make little or no sense. Believe me...we are just as frustrated as you are. I have a friend who is currently going through a similar circumstance, and will also have to go through an expungement in order to straighten it out. The moral of the story is...

If you have had ANY misdemeanor in-custody or criminal summons contact with law enforcement (No matter how long ago), be proactive in expunging the record as soon as possible. You never know when or where it will surface and bite you.
