I could be wrong but it looks like Zanders is trying to go retail.
Two web sites are identical to Zanders.

Perhaps- but if you are buying a firearm, it will still need to go thru a FFL. Checked their price on the Ruger Mk III I just bought, and they are $15 higher than I paid at local dealer- without the shipping and FFL fee I would pay to buy from them. __________________ What we have heah is.... failure to communicate. |

OK, so they are both using the same web designer. So what?

The websites don't use the same designer, they are the same website.
As an FFL, it is disconcerting that your wholesaler is making it virtually impossible to sell firearms. __________________

6" blued pencil barrel, fixed sights. Just getting it broken in- only about 300 rds so far, shoots great, much better mag release than my old Ruger Standard. digests any 22 LR I have put in it.
As far as wholesaler going to direct retail, yes, that would be a problem- but for firearms, customer will still need a FFL- Some folks refuse to do transfers- others charge an arm and a leg- and some smart folks charge a reasonable price for a transfer- and also sell them ammo, scope, case, cleaning supplies, etc- and probably their next gun.
I have an 03 FFL, but still need an 01 for newer guns. Some folk in this area charge $100, some charge $20. __________________ What we have heah is.... failure to communicate. |

Yes, I understand. Most of my business are $20 transfers.
I just think its a crappy thing to do. A business is either a wholesaler or a retailer, not both. __________________

Yep, they are the same sites with the same inventory at least with the handguns that I checked. They are all about $40.00 over wholesale. Your wholesaler is you competitor? Not sure what to think of this. |

I've never even heard of them. Where did they get started? __________________ If the pain is lacking so is the discipline...

I usually ask $10-$25 for transfers, depending upon how much of the transaction the Buyer wants me to do...like bidding on an Internet auction in his behalf.
Those who ask $75-$100 for a transfer are usually trying to punish the Buyer for not buying from them. Vote with your feet...never go back. |
