Default Journalist FFL?
Do all of the people who write gun reviews for magazines and such have to get an FFL in order to get shipped the guns that they write reviews on? Does anyone know how this usually works?

No- and further, if that were the only use, they would not GET an 01 FFL. You must intend to "engage in the business" of buying, selling or repairing guns. The guns are shipped to a FFL in their home state. There will be cases where a firearm is LOANED by a manufacturer (no transfer of ownership takes place in a loan) and will be returned to them.
