How to sell a handgun?
I would like to know the legal way to sell a handgun when the buyer lives in a different state than the seller?

Find an FFL and send it out. They may charge a small fee for their services.

Buyer needs to find a ffl dealer. Dealer sends seller copy of their ffl to you so you know its a legit ffl holder. You get payment at that point. Package firearm in a hardcase and send by a carrier next day insured but not by usps in the case of a pistol. Rifles can be mailed to a ffl in a hardcase by any means and doesnt need to be next day but still needs to be insured.
You dont need a ffl on your end to mail to a dealer just the recieving end

John the issue here is that most FFLs will not send a copy to an unlicensed person. It's even addressed in ATF newsletters not to. I'll give my 1st three and last five of the number, but not a copy. FFL EZCheck and the FFL lists are out there to verify my number is valid.
