How do you buy a gun online?
I understand it all except for the FFL. How do you send the FFL information to the seller? And how do I give that info to the gun shop it will be shipping to? What do I do? I need a detailed step on how to do this because I'm really confused as to how you do it. I'm just trying to buy a Mosin Nagant off of gunbroker

you take the info of the place your buying from. have your LGS send the place there info. then the seller can ship the firearm to them. then you will go to the LGS fill out the form. pay the fee. and go home with new rifle.

Ruger usually the FFLs will take care of that. If your LGS accepts transfers just give the seller their info and he/she will contact them to get the appropriate paperwork so the gun can be shipped.

Yep. They won't give you a copy of their license but they should give you their number or email so the seller can get a hold of their license.

Many sites like gunbroker and buds will have a locate FFL feature. Some even have preferred dealers that have agreed to accept all shipments. Once you have selected the FFL you will need to notify them that you have a firearm headed their way. They will handle the exchange of licenses on your behalf and notify you when the package arrives. You will then need to go to the FFL, complete the 4473 and NICS, pay the transfer fee and take your purchase home...of course pics and a range report are required in exchange for this info.

also need to do a search for an FFL in your area that does FFL transfers. some dealers don't even want to do them, because they feel they are not making any money for just doing some paperwork. also tranfer fees can vary from one dealer to the next.
personally i would do a search for FFL's in your area and then give some of them a a call and explain what your are wanting to do and find out what they charge for the transfer. would also be a way to judge their attitude towards doing a transfer. if they are rude or seem like they really don't want to mess with it or if they charge a huge fee, you might want to find someone else. how they deal with you over the phone is a good indicator of how they will deal with you in person.

I did this just today. I copied the online gunbrokers requirements, address and phone number and gave it to my local FFL. They're going to mail a signed copy of their license to the gunbroker. Once they have the info, I order the gun.
