Getting an FFL in Illinois??

Anyone here from Illinois have it (Non shop owner)? I am thinking about getting my FFL license. I'm planning on starting with doing transfers. I would like to get a small store front by next year. I've filled out the paperwork for the ATF & it looks like it's going to be $200.. I'm still waiting to send it in. I wanted to ask around in case I'm missing something. Any advice??

Thanks,
Bear

Bear is that $200 per yr ? There is a thread around here some where about how to go about it , BATF visits, inspections, paperwork ,etc .

Make sure you can afford the insurence on you Home Owners policy. Many carriers will drop coverage if this licenise is for your home or rental. You will need personal coverage for protection from law suites as well. You must also check city and county zoning laws regarding storing firearms and ammo regulations. If this is in your home the BATF will be able to enter at anytime to check out the location. If you decide to give up the FFL you will have to keep your records up for 20 years. That is after you surrender all your transfer forums to the BATF.:)

I know a guy who operates out of his house in IL without any problems. This thread has some good info http://www.firearmstalk.com/forums/f47/ffl-how-40660/ I filed my paperwork about a month ago so it's just a waiting game for me now. Good luck.

The FFL Kit is just info to get yourself into a real jam. For your own good follow up on the items I listed for you.:)

That link isn't to a kit.
