Had a gun store open up near me a few months ago. My first visit to it one of the owners told me they'd charge only $10 to do a gun transfer. I was very much surprised by this. He thought it was ridiculous what most folks charged for a transfer.

My FFL does up to 5 transfers for $20, including the mandatory state call in fee of $5.

From free to $55.
I can't understand the rationale of a person who would frequent a shot who charged a ludicrous amount.

just curious as to why he feels the need to charge so much for a transfer?
high side for a transfer in my area is $35-40 with $20-25 being the normal fee.

No idea. Most in this area run $25-40. You just have to look around and find a reasonable price. I used to poke around that store but their prices have completely turned me off.

The 4473 is supposed to be filled out in the presence of the dealer.
