Additionally, LEO's just like citizens must be held 100% responsible for any collateral damage or injured nonparticipants in their incursion the same way a single soldier can be prosecuted for failures associated with their actions.
They are. LEOs ROE (use of force continuum and deadly force policies) are set in stone by dept. policy and can only be changed by an administrator, which almost NEVER happens unless the department buys a new toy or experiences a bad scenario not already covered. If a LEO deviates from that policy they can be criminally charged and must bear all civil responsibility.

Again, I'm all for the 2nd. I think that good gun control means "Stance, Grip, Trigger Control, Sight Alignment and Sight Picture." And until a felony is committed the government has no business saying who can carry what firearms. But thinking that downgrading LEOs weapons & equipment will help to rectify what congress has already screwed up is backwards. That's implementing more control when we should be in favor of implementing less.

I'm just waiting for the police to have fighter jets, attack helicopters, and tanks. They already have the armored personnel carriers, explosives, full auto weapons, and drones.

So I'd like to know why they didn't use a remote device. Looks like the guy had trouble lighting the fuse. If it's a demonstration for the media, make it realistic. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but they didn't show us the hinge side of the jamb.

They won't. But the police had all those things backing them up when SHTF in NO after Katrina. And they still had serious problems controlling some of the violent criminals that were using the disaster to create even more mayhem. There were cops from all over the US, plus MPs, marines, national guard units and federal agencies crawling all over the city and it was over a week before the gunfire started to died down. (Of course most of that never made the news.) Having the tools available to restore law and order in a situation like that is vital to a civil society.

Y'know, if they just gave everybody a few inch and a quarter sticks of 40%, and a dozen #8 blasting caps- I'll bet the average IQ of the human race would go UP a few points in the first day.

We have one guy on the SWAT team trained/certified on explosive breaching. We have NEVER used it. It is one of those "just in case" situations.
