Applied for my FFL and NY state gun dealers license Jan 12th

In New York you need a state dealers license to sell handguns.

ATF took the money from my account on Jan 17th

My town has no zoning or business license required, i have a official letter from them stating that for my IOI. (Industry Operation Investigator)

I have received my NYS sales tax number.

I have been working on my store while waiting for my ATF meeting.

Also studying ATF publication 5300.4 in preparation for that meeting.

I have a list of the areas from 5300.4 the IOI will go over, if anyone would like i will share it.

So here i am patiently waiting to hear from the IOI any day now

congrats! I mailed mine in the week before Christmas and had my FFL before the end of January. The ATF meeting was easy ask questions and don't over complicate it.

Here is a picture of my store, it was a gun shop in the mid 80s, that was the garage door where i framed in.

When it warms up and the snow goes, i have more plywood to finish covering the end and will prime it white. Not sure on final color.

Congrats Kieth, looks like a good start you've got there.

All of the meetings and inspections I've had with the ATF folks have gone real well. They are very courteous and professional, and not nearly as scary as most people would have you believe.

Thanks, the inside is all cleaned out as well, that was more work that buildign the wall

the Sheriff's office just called; my NYS Firearms Dealers license is done and ready to pick up.

My FFL application was forwarded Feb 22 to the local field office. I should be hearing soon for my meeting with the IOI
