What was your first milsurp? And if you don't mind saying how much you payed for it (this question is optional), I'm wanting to see how much milsurp prices have exploded over the past few years. My first was a 1941 Izhevsk M91/30 Mosin Nagant I got at a pawn shop for $109 in February 2012. Attachment 124504

I'll bet the bayonet alone is worth twice what you paid now.

Russian Tula Arsenal SKS made in 1954, purchased in 1994 when I turned 18 for $119 (I'm pretty sure).

Czechoslovakian 8mm mauser. Stock was beat, bluing ok, bought for $125 about ten years ago. The stock was shortened, and every time I shot it the recoil made my teeth puncture the inside of my upper cheek. I got tired of spitting blood and regrettibly sold it for $150.

Mosin 91/30, got it last fall. Relative sold me this and a m38 for 200 bucks. Sold them m38 and ended up with the 91/30, 500 rounds of 7.62x54r for 30 bucks. Looking back I should have kept the m38 also but o well.

Depends if you count pistols.

Pistols count. And there's no better first milsurp than the Garand. There's a Garand shaped hole in my heart. Hopefully that'll change soon.

1912 smle ( stock was sporterized ) I got bit hard because then I had to get one with the full stock (1956 pakistani), etc. etc.
Don't mind the cat, she OWNS the place!
The 1912 cost $100, the 1956 $150 about 13 years ago.
