Most of the ROTC and JROTC drill teams either use a dummy, or a "drill rifle"- which has been demilled, and cannot be made to fire. MAJOR problems with accounting for, and securing real firearms.

There are some American Legion/ VFW posts that provide Honor Guards or Color Guards that are using 03's- many of which are unsafe to fire anything in EXCEPT blanks due to too many years of neglect.

A lot of those 03s were on long term loan from the military- and when they tried an audit to account for rifles a few years back, found a huge number of them were MIA- no one knew where they were, they had been sold, given away, taken home by a member who had passed away, etc.

the answer is the naggant,. alot of countries use it alongside with the ak. like china.

Don't forget nearly every military vehicle has a M-2 HB 50 cal mounted on it. They are still in current production.
