What WW2 rifle is still in service today?
I will give you a hint. It is in service in keeping Canada's sovereignty in the Arctic and in coastal areas.

I'd rather my own son see me die on my feet as a free man, than watch him go, broken, into slavery.

Mosin Nagant is way pre WWII, and still in service if you count Afghani insurgents. It's a war...

Yeah- never met my counterparts in Cuba. But I'm working on that...
When I was in Alaska, we partnered with some of the Canadian Forces (good troops) Did a few jumps together. I was cadre at Northern Warfare school- some of their folks went thru our Mountaineering tng.
The folks I am speaking of still used the No.4 Mk 1 rifle. Reliability under extreme cold, and a big enuff bullet for bear.

The M1 carbine is still in service with the Israeli Police.
SKSs were tested on the Eastern front in WW2, and are still in service in Cambodia, Laos, China, North Korea and Vietnam.

Give that man a beer! The Canadian Rangers are issued a No4 rifle for service. However you can use any full-wood military bolt action . It's just that they will only provide you with .303 British ammo and the rifle to go with.
