Turkish Mauser
I've been seeing Turkish Mausers for $150-$190 online and was wondering if they're worth the money. Does anyone have one of these? There's one in my area for $230 with 80 rounds of ammo. Thanks

They are heavy rifles if '98's. Now a Turkish Mauser is very vague. Could be a '93, '95, or '98 action. What action is it??

Most have been rode hard, put up wet. I found one with a bore that had not yet turned into sewer pipe. Turk ammo is pretty hot. Paid under $100 for mine about 5 yrs ago. Shoots OK as a military arm- is not a target rifle. Big and rather heavy- which, with the recoil, can be a blessing.

Are they a Turkish Mauser or a Mauser that is a "Turkey"??

I just love how rugged they look and the price! Plus ammo is cheap if you can find it

You will hear people slam surplus rifles all day long. The difference is we are rifleman. We can shoot anything well. They can't. If you take the trip, you will be better all around. |
Is this still an open forum? If so I think they are on the low end of the Milsrp line of rifles. They are cheap crude Mausers. For some one who has never owned a nice Mdl. 98 they would be acceptable. :)
