As I understand it, the Mosins that were converted to .06 were poorly done, and it is generally believed that they are unsafe to fire.

Seems like alot of work to re-barrel to .308, change the bolt face, cut the chamber. You would have thought they should be outstanding!! Should have cut the chambers to .303 Brit, only minor work to bolt face.

Id seen one turned into a Lamp back in mid 1990's back in them days they had package deals in Shot Gun News one could buy 5 for $90 there was a gun dealer in Kotzebue that bought several hundred dollars of these package deals, in one lot he found one with a crack in the receiver ring so he turned it into a lamp!
they dont really look much diffrent than a std 1891 mfg Tula I had.
diffrent stamps markings and bands, these came all [SA] marked.


my fave find was a T53, I'd bought as a $39 parts gun, the metal was mint and all matching#'s, the stock end cap had rotted off the crappy wood stock so was relagated to parts gun status.
