That's true. Gold and nickels show up in the same range. Don't dig any pull tabs or discriminate them and you don't find any nickels or gold. I normally turn my discrimination off. Mine is an old analog machine and I can tell by the meter whether a target is non ferrous or ferrous so I can bypass the nails and iron if I'm coin shooting. When relic hunting I dig it all no matter how frustrating it gets.
