Default One of my "Oldies"

I picked this up a few years ago, and pulled it out today while looking for something else. It is an old Webley&Scott .32. Condition is near mint, except that the left side grip is cracked and each one is chipped. Tough to find originals, but I have a set of repros in the parts bin.

It is a great, fun shooter, but has only been taken out a couple of times. The fit and finish are superb.

The guy I got it from had bought it hoping it was a "Metropolitan Police" version which are very rare. So when it ended up being the "Non-Metro" version he gave it to me for a song.

Sweet. That's the first one I've ever seen.

Have you ever owned an Ortgies? I think I'd like one someday.

Thanks Don.

I have not owned an Ortgies, but am sure one will show up some day. Kind of a cross between a Browning 1922 and a Rem 51, as far as looks. Almost got a nice Rem 51 recently, but decided to wait.

I got into a "pocket pistol" groove a few years ago and bought a bunch of historically significant pistols. Sauers, Walthers, Mausers, Colts, Brownings, Webley & Scott, Berettas, etc. Lots of fun to shoot, but serious limitations in the accuracy dept, usually. The one I shoot the most is an old Sauer 1913. Not sure why, but I really like it.

Sold many of them, but kept a few. This is one I kept.

Good to know. I'd still love to have a Colt 1907 in .380. But they've gotten pricey and scarce.

I like showing up at the range to have people ask what you are shooting and how old it is.

Don't I always ask you, "Hey Jo, is there anything I have that you want me to bring...?" Ha.

These little pocket pistols are fun to shoot at about 7 yards, but after that most of them are just making noise. But the Webley is a good shooter.
