I'd ditch the POS ASAP. Laws is laws. Don't matter how "things are done" in various localities, what you have is an illegal firearm. That it's rusty has no bearing on the fact. BUT..... you do what you think is just and fair.

The ATF has specific criteria for disabling a gun. Rusted shut is not on the list. Welded shut is.

you just dont get it we are giving you the law.what really change my mind on this matter my business failed and i was being sued on past materials bill. the clerk of court show up on my door step with a warrant a photographer and sheriff deputy to photo every thing in my house. Long story short you have no idea when the law could show up. they didnt come in my house because i had settled the day before and the paper work had just mist them. they would have found it. So is it worth it messing up the rest of your gun owning life. when it can be fixed with weld or a trash can
