Hey, do you remember when Ruger rifles and Kimber handguns were cheaper than any other brands? I remember Ruger MKII rifles being evaluated and were tack drivers and much cheaper than the competition. Same when Kimber handguns were introduced. Maybe that's why when you get older you lose your memory so you don't remember the good deals you passed up. BTW I remember when Colt AR's were cheap too!

What I wanted from Ruger in the 60's was their single shot #1. That's a superb rifle.

The Ruger Blackhawk 44 mag and 45 Colt were less expensive than the S&W and available.

They made the handsome M77 Express as well.

I remember when you could hand pick an EniField or mauser Fo $8.88 and the bayonet $1.29. I'm still working on the time machine!

I bought a Ruger #1 in 1980 in 06. Only hunted with it for 10 years. It's a beautiful rifle. Will have to take a pic if it.
I have a 44 carbine that is as old as me my dad bought.
I do like my M77 I bought is 1990 with a laminated stock. Don't think I have seen but one other like it. Got it at Wal Mart.

I don't remember 8.88 but I remember buying Mausers out of a 55 gallon drum at Gibson's for 15.00 and Mosin's were at gun shows for 9.00 with no takers. I used to buy bayonets from a mail order co. called P&S Sales. IIRC they were 9 for 12 bucks.

Well you may also remember when a new Ford Fairlane was $2,200 dollars and a pound of hamburger was .33 cents. All of that was before the Government was running the printing presses 24/7. This has become the largest tax increase in American history. The government has borrowed dollars from the American tax payers and repaid them with piles of inflated paper.

When I was a teen I borrowed my late dad's Buick and had the gas station put in two dollars worth.

Gas was $0.259 a gallon then except in a gas war when it was .0179. They pumped for you, made change as required at your window, cleaned your windshield and offered to "check the oil"!
