New to Me Type 54 Tokarev
I went to a gun show yesterday, and I walked out happy. I was also very happy there was barely anyone there. I walked in looking to sell my M44 (which I did), and after some searching I came across an older gentleman selling a number of C&R handguns. He had two Tokarevs that caught my eye, a Yugo M57 with holster, and another Tokarev that I couldn't identify right off the bat. He wanted $260 for the Yugo, a little high for me, and I asked to see the other Tokarev, he told me it was a Chinese variant. I asked how much and he said $125, the said it was "more of a junker than the Yugo" because the safety had came off and got lost. I didn't have a problem that because I know the safeties were put on them in order to be imported, and they were crappy safeties in the first place. I handed it back to him and told him I'd think about it. I finished looking at the rest of the tables, and went back to him and offered him $100, and we haggled and settled on $105. He also said the man he bought it from said it's a great shooter. I also picked up a new Korean made M1 Carbine magazine still in the paper and 15 rounds of Yugo 8mm on stripper clips for $20. A good show, and a good deal. What do y'all think about it? Can anyone tell me the year of manufacture? All feedback is appreciated! Thanks! Pictures to come!
