Default Similar Shotgun

A friend of mine recently purchased an old black powder double-barrel shotgun at an antique store that has some exquisite engraving. The only words on it are "Valen Esterle" silver enlayed on the top of the barrels just in front of the hammers.

It looks to be a custom built firearm, but I don't know the history of it at all. My friend, who doesn't use a computer, wanted me to try to find out how much it's worth. Your post here is the only thing I could referring to such a firearm. So please post if you were able to find any additional information on this.
