The Mdl. 11 was the result of a person at Winchester who knew very little about firearms. The Winchester Sales Manager who was related to the family and a friend S.C. Johnson made the pick.
THe Mdl. 11 was chosen by a novice. American shooters are hard to fool they laughed at the "Bumper Jack". It was sold mostly to Urban hunters by Sears & Robuck.

This was really used in early colonoscopy proceedures in the early 20th century.
