303tom I would need a closer look at the action. otherwise all we can do is guess and whats the point of that.

I did not know that Marlin made arms for the Stevens company? Stevens made a very fine line of lever actions of their own. I had a Stevens Mdl.435 Lever Action .35 Rem. for may years. I should kept the Stevens it was a fine Lever gun. The Stevens Lever 435 was made from 1910 to 1918 or

No I ment marlin made guns for sears

Actually I am going to give this to (BillM), It is a Shapleigh`s King Nitro, which is a Savage 15a built for Shapleigh Hardware out of St. Louis MO. Been in my family for ever, one of the first guns I ever shot...........
