Couple of mine- other pics on other computer. The SMLE is from 1915. Could have solved the world oil shortage with what was in that stock. Wrapped it in brown grocery bags, put in black garbage bag, left out in August sun for 3 hours. Did that 4 times.

Gee...years ago, Enfields were the bottom of the pecking order in surplus rifles...I Always liked them but at the time they were not the best to "sporterize".....guess that saved lots of them from bubba

It was Christmas 1955..I was 6 years old...shopping at Emery, Bird &Thayer department store in Kansas City with my mom and dad...in the sporting goods area were tables full of Enfield, Springfield and Mauser rifles...NONE priced over $20.00....dad said "we should buy one each for the boys, they may want to go hunting some day."......I watched with tense anticipation....then mother burst the bubble with a stern "NO....AND WHAT IS THAT BROWN GREASE ALL OVER THEIR HANDS?".....dad was in trouble and I began a long fascination with old military firearms.....just reminiscing folks.....sorry.

this enfield was sporterized long before I came to own it, so I thought I'd try something different. I'm sure some of you are puking on your keyboards just looking at it
