I agree with you on that. But, if you had unlimited resources, it may be hard to decide when enough is enough. I suspect that, to this person, it is a matter of keeping ahead of the competition. Mine is bigger than yours kind of a thing.

Makes sense, the more likely scenario in my case would be a warehouse full of ammo though

I didn't even know he had a drinking problem.

One day at a time, Mosin.

I was fortunate, inasmuch as my first Mosin was a near-mint Polish

M44. It set the tone for the others I've acquired, such as the

1925 Izzy Hex with all matching serials. Unfortunately, it was re-arsenaled,

more than likely in 1931, from the scant clues available.

The Mosins should only have a few "Drop" marks. The Russians only fired them once to get a Mdl. 98 German Mauser.

Have developed a fondness for them also. Like another a few yrs back I did not have any---but now. Also been looking at some Mausers. Picked up some 8X57 dies in the process. Nothing like being able to feed hungry kids--lol.

I have 7 mosins in all. 2 44s, 2 91\30 hexes, and 3 91\30s, one with brass end caps on the handguard. The only reason I have that many is due to having some non C&R fan friends, with a loved one who passed away. One of my 44s, and both of my hexes were gifts from friends who didn't want what dad or grampa had. My 1942 Tula with the brass trim was picked up by my wife for $50 from a co-worker that just wanted that "THING" out of her house. Came with about 150 rounds as well. Sometimes I can almost love the liberals!

As to the supply drying up, I think it's a temporary thing. Panic buying and selling out of cheap guns and ammo go hand in hand. With AKs and ARs going for upwards of 2 grand for cheap junk, and on the potential ban lists Mosins at $125 to $200 are going to fly off the shelf during said state of panic. Give it about a year, and the prices will go down again. Probably right about the time that Uncle Ivan decides to look in that warehouse right next door to the Chernobyl power plant. Think of that rophy, a glow in the dark 91\30!
