What would be a good inexpensive Mil-surp rifle to buy that is also in a moderately cheaper caliber? So I could shoot it without spending $1 a round.

The Mosin Nagant would be the cheapest viable option in my opinion, Mosins are cool, but I am a much bigger fan of the Enfield No.1 and No. 4 rifles. 303 British ammo is still somewhat affordable at roughly $0.60 a round

Lee Enfield No.4 Mk1

True, I have both and the Enfield is my choice over the Mosin, personally, but the Mosin is better for the price (roughly $130) but if you have a few extra dollars get the Enfield
