Still stashing funds for an SKS. But, I couldn't control myself. I just ordered a Chinese Type 53 from Bud's gun shop. $124 delivered to my door. (I've got a C&R )

The SKS won't disappoint. I love mine. I've had my eye on a Type 53 for a while.

Went to a gun show last saturday and walked over to a table with a couple M91/30s on it. I looked at the price tags and ALL of them were $300+.eek!. It's a shame too because one of them had an absolutely beautiful stock on it. But ,for the same price as the awesome one, the one next to it looked like it had been run over a few times and then sanded down...

I was at a flea market and saw a guy walking around with a 91/30 round receiver, nice stock and blueing. I asked how much, and he replied $300. I smiled, waiting for him to tell me the real price, but that was it. Firm. No sale.

Will Mosins ever recover from this recent panic? I sure hope the days of $80-$100 Mosins return.....

They're $140 - $160 at the online dealers. The gun shows and online auction sites are absolutely nuts! I don't think we'll ever see the price drop below $140 again. They're claiming that the Russians are raising their prices now that the stocks are starting to deplete.

They run about $130 in my area for M91/30s and $119 for rough Type 53s with awful bores.
