If the Mosin gets its own subfourm, what about the Mausers, Arisakas, 1903's, Krags, Garands, etc??....

I bought my rifle, the WWII scope, taps, and a drill press for less than the $500 they want for the repro 91/30 "snipers".... Ex-sniper Mosins usally had a reason for the scope being removed.. Has it been counterbored?

Exactly my point as well... Personally I don't see the need for a sub-forum on Mosins.. I'm an avid collector of all milsurps including the Mosin Nagant But I think we're good leaving it a general C&R forum..

Actually that is a really good picture if you know what you are looking at. The counter bore shoulder is quite visible. The counter-boring is simply drilling a larger bore until you get to good rifling. They are usually drilling out the rifling ruined by cleaning from the muzzle with a steel rod. The shoulder, you see in the pic, on the left, in effect, becomes the new crown.
