M91/30 rifles where issued with a socket bayonet (no scabbard), the M1881Russian Imperial Cossack Dragoon Shasqua had the bayonet fittings attached to it's brass fittings. These where late found also on the Soviet cavalry Shasqua scabbards. The infantry merely carried them through their belts. Also early M91's had their sights marked in Yarshin's, which is a step of the military marching pace. Later it was revised to metre's..........

I have 2 91/30 both 1943's. 1 is in parade/dress condition the other was pretty tough but cleaned up nice, the parade unit has all matching #'s while the second unit has a mismatched bolt, darn. Both shoot great, I used TungOil on the beater unit and it really looks great, the wife loves it says it's the best looking gun in my collection. I used some degreaser than steamed the dents then sanded the stock, didn't stain it so it's natural looks real good and draws lots of attention. Paid $150 for both at a flea market, did okay.

Correction: The $600 version of the M91/30 is an original sniper rifle with the original scope and mounts. Not a standard M91 with the goods added on.

The website where I saw the $600 Mosins Nagants was collectible fire arms. Looking through the descriptions given they don't seem to be sniper version of the Mosin. Here's a link, scroll down until you get to the section that has the heading Mosin Nagants and tell me what you think.

Default 91/30

If you found one of these rifles for 600.00 dollars it is more than likely the sniper version scoped out with bent down bolt, be careful as many peolpe buy after market parts and build look a likes this can be done for about 300.00 dollars including rifle, and make sure all the numbers match, this is a true eargsaspliten loudenboomer !!! not to mention a flame thower!!! Probably the most reproduced rifle in the world used by about every country ever known to do battle!!! most of these guns can be found from 60-90 dollars depending on where you shop with exception to the true sniper modle (Gun shows, pawn shops, private sales) Never buy a case of ammo with out trying a box out first these rounds were mass produced with little care of powder regulation some are so hot that they expand the brass so much that you can't get the spent brass out of the barrel, some of these rounds were manufactured for the 7.62x54 machine guns and are not to be used in a bold action they are way to hot!!! a for sure jam waiting to happen!!! make sure you do your research!!!

He wants over 1k for one of those rifles. If I were you, I'd no longer visit that site. If you want a reference, check J&G.

We were talking about the M91/30. The person doing the pricimg on that site must have bumped their head. I went back and looked again and I still can't believe the asking prices. What's more is you know people have purchased from this site. Sad really.
